ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

OUR AIM: TO CONNECT OXFORD’S BEST AND BRIGHTEST TALENT TO THE WORLD OF BUSINESS AND BEYOND

In Michaelmas of 2018, we saw an opportunity for students to learn more about consulting, develop skills and to help clients solve business challenges. We decided to launch the CapitOx Consulting Programme where teams spend 6 weeks researching and then presenting recommendations to their client.

Our projects in the past ranged from: a rapid growth Asian cosmetics company, a Kenyan social enterprise, a MedTech company and more. We hand pick our clients so that your work has an impact on their business. In the past we have had people intern at their clients so this is a great chance to develop relationships with some of the most important companies in their industries.

We also pair every consulting team with a mentor who is a real life consultant. Mentors in the past have worked for BCG, OC&C, Simon-Kucher and more. Mentors give you the eyes of a consultant and add to the value teams provide to their clients.

For you, this is your chance to develop relationships and make an impact on some of the fastest growing companies from all around the globe. In an increasingly competitive workplace, this is your chance to stand out from the crowd as someone that has the skills employers crave.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications
Opens in Week 0 (Monday 7th October)
Send in your CV and answer our two short answer questions to apply to the programme through our Google form. Reach out to the consulting committee for any questions!

Case Study Workshop
Middle of Week 1 (15 – 17 October)
Come to the Case Study Workshop where you can learn how to tackle a case study – useful for summer internships and for the case study interview for the consulting programme.
Applications close on the night after the workshop so send them in ASAP (only once you’ve networked with the committee!)

Interviews
End of Week 1 (19 – 20 October)
Interviews run on the weekend of week 1 and involve a case study and fit interview. Going to the case study workshop will help a lot for the interview. Don’t worry if you are inexperienced, we tailor our interviews to your experience level.

Decisions
Early Week 2 (Monday 21st October)
We send out decisions on the Monday stating what role you’ve been accepted for. We also send out project preference forms giving you a preference for what project you’d want to be consulting on.

Launch Event
Midweek Week 2 (TBC)
The launch event is where you will find out what project you have been placed onto as well as a chance to meet your team for the first time. Always a great evening to meet fellow Oxford students (and us!)
